We have been learning about different types of weathers and how we can keep safe.  We have been playing a card sorting game and then we sorted the cards onto a chart in our big books.  We have been learning about charts and graphs in nursery and learning to read these for information.

Today on our walk we were learning the parts of a tree.  We were pretending to be a tree.  We learned that our roots needed it to rain so that we could drink up some water.  Like plants, trees also need the sun so they can grow.  First the trunk grows and then the branches and leaves.  We swished around in the wind but our trunks were very still and only our branches were swishing.

We then collected some sticks and laid them in order of size on the ground.  We worked very well in teams to sort our sticks.  There was long and short sticks and thin and fat sticks.
