Nursery Forest Trip

We had another successful trip to the forest.  Thank you to everyone who helped out!

The children enjoyed playing bingo where they were able to name the minibeasts on the cards and identify them as they played.  They did very well at taking turns.  They also had fun playing with the playdoh where they added dots to the ladybird, legs to the spider and centipede and made long and short wiggly worms.  We made clay minibeasts and the children and adults were very creative in their designs.

The children played a variety of outdoor games between the morning and afternoon session such as Tig, What’s the Time Mr Wolf? and Hide and Seek and had snack in the forest.

Building a bus in nursery

The nursery children have started their transport topic and wanted to build a bus.  We built a bus outside and they all had fun playing on the bus.  Some of them wanted to go to the beach, the park, Glasgow, Edinburgh and one of them wanted to go to Spain on the bus.  I must say the drivers were charging their customers lots of money to get on their bus.  The children learned that they should put seat belts on and always stay seated.  We also sang ‘The wheels on a bus go round and round’.  Throughout the topic they will learn about lots of different modes of transport and they have asked to make boats and aeroplanes etc.  You will be able to see some of the children’s work in their Big Books and on this website.
