Shoebox Appeal Assembly

We had a super assembly led by Margaret Tough of Blytheswood Care, who came to tell us about the Shoebox Appeal. We learned a lot about the people in need who receive these boxes in 9 different countries.  Margaret brought along some boxes and showed us lots of examples of things we could include to help people of various ages.  Primary 2/3 are going to take responsibility for organising this and will send out a letter next week with some suggestions of some items which you may like to donate.  We very much appreciate any donations at all and hope to beat last years total, which was 17 boxes!  Keep an eye out for more information about this soon!

Ramadan P4/5

The children in P4/5 have been learning about Ramadan and the importance it has in the Islamic faith.  One of our children shared her experience of Ramadan and brought in some books for us to look at and she read a story from one of them.  The children discussed how difficult it would be to fast in the daytime, especially if they were being active.  Some children chose to design Mehndi hands and others chose to design a cover for the Quran.
