Our team building group had a great afternoon in the school grounds today. We were learning about fire safety. First we discussed the fire triangle and what we need to make fire. We then decided on a fuel (sticks and paper) and ignition (matches today because it was very windy, next week we will use the flint and steel) and we collected together everything we needed. One of the children taught us a very efficient way to burn paper which he had learned at Scouts and we tied the paper into knots. We then toasted marshmallows and had some hot chocolate.
We then completed a team challenge! We had to move a ball (without touching it) from one container to the next, ensuring that everyone had a turn. It was tricky but we managed well, due to our good communication skills! We then thought of ways to make the activity more challenging and decided to split into two groups and race each other! We also considered doing the challenge with some team members blindfolded, but unfortunately ran out of time! A great time was had by all!
