P7 learned about Glasgow city coat of arms through their book study Divided City. They learned the significance of the bell, bird, tree and fish and the story behind them. They then created their own coat of arms, after learning what the different colours and animals represent.
On Monday our team building group went to the forest and learned about fire. We each took turns to use the flint and steel to set a piece of cotton wool on fire. This took real resilience as it is not an easy task but the boys all tried very hard and were all successful! We cooked a delicious snack of French Toast on the fire. Later we had great fun using the slackline, hammock and the rope ladder. The boys worked together to pack and unpack the trolley, to pull the trolley to the forest and all helped to set up the activities. Fantastic fun was had by all.
