The children have been developing their knowledge and understanding of addition and subtraction and we do this by firstly using concrete materials and then creating pictures of these sums before moving onto the abstract sums we all know and learn (written methods).
P6 + P7 had lots of fun at their Christmas Party with everyone looking great in their party clothes. They enjoyed doing Scottish ceilidh dancing and also danced to lots of fun pop songs such as Saturday Night, Macarena and Cha Cha Slide. They had a break for some refreshments.
The children in p4/5 learned a little about James Rizzi and discussed and described his artwork. He lived in New York and was famous for drawing and painting Rizzi Happy Houses. The children are creating their own New York skyline and today they began with drawing their very own Rizzi inspired happy house. They will be painted this week and displayed.
The children have been learning about the Diwali the Hindu festival of lights and the important messages. They enjoyed making Kandil Lanterns and making some Rangoli art pieces.
