P4/5 visit P3/4 class

Thanks to P3/4 children for inviting us in to find out all about the Romans as well as learn some fantastic new facts.  We were lucky to weave, play with the catapults, test the strength of bridges and learn about operations Romans performed and the tools they used.

P7 K’nex Beam Bridges

Today P7 learned about the simplest of bridges; the Beam Bridge. We discussed a beam bridge often being a fallen tree trunk spanning a stream. We then created our own with K’nex and added items to the top to test the strength of our structures.

P7 STEM Homework

As part of STEM week P7 were set the challenge of creating a model of their choice using materials of choice (eg. recycled items, Lego). Many created bridges based on our learning in class.
