Today we learned about the background to the John Muir Award, who he was and his legacy.  We also learned all about what kind of things we are going to do to achieve the John Muir Award.  We walked around the school grounds and shared ideas on activities we could do.  We specifically talked about how we could conserve it.  The children’s ideas were put on post it notes and will be kept to refer to throughout our experience.  Some of the ideas were, litter picking, planting wild flowers that will attract wildlife, research what flowers and plants attract wildlife, research ideas for conserving wildlife, etc.  We visited our wildlife area which the Eco group and School Grounds have already begun to develop and so we will support this further.
