The circles have been working on fractions, decimals and percentages recently and enjoyed using the Numicon today to make links between these. The children worked in pairs to cover different fractions and percentages of their base-boards in different colours.

The squares have been learning about dividing recently and have been using concrete and visual methods to help deepen their understanding.

This week while p5 worked with Mr Johnstone for music p4 got a chance to use the keyboards. The children learned to play ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ and James taught us ‘Old MacDonald Had a Farm’. We had a great afternoon!

We were learning the drama convention ‘slow motion’, and how effective it is for visual impact, comedy and building suspense. We created 3 slow motion scenes with music:- A comedy race scene, a visual impact fight scene and a dramatic cowboy scene.

We have been learning the portal story ‘Elf Road’ off by heart, by mapping it out and creating actions. Once we have learned all the story, we will innovate it using our own ideas.

We have been learning to recognise and continue shape, colour, picture and number patterns.
