As part of their rainforest topic, P7 learned about deforestation. Each child was given a role eg forest inhabitant, conservationist, government official, cattle farmer and they had the task of walking around the class to meet others. When they met another person, they both introduced who they were, if they were for or against deforestation and state why. Children kept a note of this so by the end of the lesson they had a condensed table of thoughts.

Today P7 were learning about perimeter. The children went outdoors to draw their own shapes using chalk and metre sticks, and their partners calculated the perimeter.

As part of Health Week the children took part in various activities and one of these activities was dance.  The children choreographed some movements themselves for all the to do.  It was an afternoon of fun and laughter and of course fitness.

Primary 1 children were learning to move their body well, exploring how to manage and control it and finding out how to use and share floor space.  They were also learning how to work together in group situations, being aware of others’ needs, especially when taking turns and sharing resources.  Today they all did well at following instructions and rules.
