P4/5 Maths

The squares have been working hard in maths over the last few days. The children have been learning about fractions of shapes and fractions of numbers. They have been using their times table knowledge and concrete materials to help work out the fractions of numbers.

P4/5 Backhand in Tennis

Today the children were learning the backhand e.g. how to hold the racket and how to hit the ball.  We practised the backhand in a few activities and then we played some rallies with our partners.

“When you told us to challenge ourselves I felt that challenges weren’t the best but once I did challenge myself I had fun and they were the best.” Holly

“I thought I was doing quite good when I was rolling the ball to my partner using the backhand and also hitting it off the wall.” Rory

“I thought the backhand was going to be too hard for me but the more I practised it I started to find it easier to do.” Mathew

“I didn’t like the backhand because I found it hard and I had to crossover and it was sore….ahhhhh!” Katie

“When we were hitting it off the wall I found it a little bit difficult but it helped me.” Julia
