P4/5 Science – Energy and Sustainability
P4/5 have been learning about the benefits of using renewable energies in Scotland and what sources we have available to us. We looked at the advantages of using both renewable and non-renewable energies and why we can’t and shouldn’t rely on just renewable resources. We also researched what Global Warming is and how it affects our planet. The children then discussed how they could personally reduce the affects of global warming and how our Government intends to deal with it and what things have already been put in place e.g. windfarms, solar panels on our homes, recycling, etc.
P6/7 Science – Energy and Sustainability
This term the children in P6/7 have been learning about Energy and Sustainability. They have investigated and researched the advantages and disadvantages of renewable and non-renewable energies in Scotland and the rest of the world. They have learned about affects of global warming and how we can reduce the affects. They looked at this from a global point of view as well as how they personally can help reduce the affects. Today they created their own windfarm by building solar power wind turbines.
