P4/5 had a great day at Amazonia today! The trip was linked with our class topic – The Rainforest. The children got to explore the indoor Amazonian rainforest and see loads of different animals. We were given a tour by one of the ladies who works there who told us all about the different animals and their adaptations to the Rainforest habitat. We were then able to handle some animals. The children were offered the chance to look at and hold a snake, a tarantula and a tortoise. Some children were brave enough to hold all 3! We were then given time to explore the main attractions as a class before enjoying our packed lunches! We ended the day with a play in the park across the road to cool down after being in the tropical climate! The children enjoyed playing with hula hoops, skipping ropes and balls and making up their own games outdoors. A great day had by all! Thank you so much to the helpers that came with us.
