Primary 7 are learning about Space this term and over the last couple of weeks have been learning about the movement of the earth and the moon. Last week the children created leaflets and posters to explain the earth’s rotation on its axis and its revolution around the sun. This week we focussed on the 8 different phases of the moon. After an initial discussion about the different phases and their names the children worked in groups to try and recreate each phase using Oreo biscuits. This was not as successful as planned as the biscuits crumbled very easily, however it was fun nonetheless.
