Our topic for this term is Glasgow. The children have enjoyed researching famous Glaswegians and landmarks so far. We have also been learning about the Glasgow Coat of Arms and the story behind it. The class worked in groups to re-create the Coat of Arms using collage materials such as paint, wool, string and tissue paper. We spoke about St. Mungo (the Patron Saint of Glasgow) and heard the stories that explain the significance of the tree, the bird, the bell and the fish on the design.
