The children in P4/5 have been learning about Ramadan and the importance it has in the Islamic faith.  One of our children shared her experience of Ramadan and brought in some books for us to look at and she read a story from one of them.  The children discussed how difficult it would be to fast in the daytime, especially if they were being active.  Some children chose to design Mehndi hands and others chose to design a cover for the Quran.

The children in P3/4 and P4/5 enjoyed creative time together outside with the loose parts.  You can see them making dens with a variety materials and making ramps for balls.  Some were designing a street plan for their cars and some played with the ropes, balls and hula hoops.

P7 learned about Ramadan and how this is celebrated by Muslims. They looked at the school day of a Muslim girl called Farhana and possible difficulties she might face when she is fasting. They then looked at the end of Ramadan celebration called ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’ and made their own Fanoos Lanterns. You will be able to see these displayed if you walk past our class window.
