Lockerbie Manor Day 5

Group 10 started the last day with Initiative Exercises, while Group 11 did abseiling, which everyone enjoyed!  We came together as a whole class to do Wide Games, which included Monkey Football, Tig Games, Fairy, Wizard, Giant and other running games.  We finished our Lockerbie experience with a lovely lunch of chicken and chorizo pasta, chicken kebabs and salad.  The children have had a wonderful week. They have been a credit to the school, having been praised by instructors and catering staff for their good manners, behaviour and excellent teamwork.

Lockerbie Manor Day 4

Day 4 has been a great day so far! Both groups did Survival, which involved lots of den building and group 10 did the obstacle course while group 11 did low ropes. After a lovely lunch of burger, fish fingers or cheese pasty, we all walked off our lunch on a hill walk. We all managed the climb to the top and enjoyed the beautiful views over Lockerbie and the surrounding areas. We are getting ready for dinner, which is a choice of fish and chips, pasta bolognaise or spinach and ricotta cannelloni and are looking forward to tonight’s activities at the climbing wall and Jacob’s Ladder/High All Abroad.

Lockerbie Manor Day 3

We have had another super day at Lockerbie! The weather has been beautiful for the third day in a row and we all had a very good sleep last night, with everyone fast asleep by 10. The first activities of the day were blind trail and archery for group 10 and obstacle course and fencing for group 11. After a wonderful lunch (see menus in photos below) and more compliments about the excellent manners of our children, we all set off to the lake for an afternoon of kayaking and canoeing. The children had a ball and got very wet! We had a great time at the disco in the evening.  We are very proud of the superb behaviour, good manners and teamwork of the children so far on this trip!

Lockerbie Manor Day 2

It has been a busy day today! We had a fanastic cooked breakfast followed by a Scavenger Hunt for Mrs Alexander’s Group (10) while Mrs Shearer’s Group (11) did Archery.  We then all had fun at the climbing area with Group 10 abseiling and Group 11 climbing. We are very pleased to report that so far, every single child has completed every activity without hesitation! After a superb lunch of soup with petit pain and baked potatoes with salad, Group 10 did Fencing, while Group 11 had fun on the zip wire. Following that we had fun at the blind trail and the low ropes course, where both groups demonstrated superb teamwork and cooperation. Dinner was a choice of cottage pie, sweet and sour chicken or vegetable curry, followed by ice cream. Our last activity of the day was Jacob’s Ladder and High All Aboard for Group 10, with Group 11 creating their Video.

Lockerbie Manor Day 1

We have had a fantastic first day at both Wiston Lodge and Lockerbie Manor! We enjoyed team building and survival activities at Wiston and so far have enjoyed two activities at Lockerbie. Mrs Alexander’s group had a ball at the zip wire, where they were so quick and brave that everyone got 5 shots! They were zipping forwards, backwards, with spins and some even managed no hands! They later created super tv adverts and created a film in their second activity. Mrs Shearer’s group started with a scavenger hunt, which saw them exploring the grounds and racing round finding out facts and solving clues. Their second activity was initiative exercises where they worked together to solve problems and complete challenges, which they did very well! We’ve had an amazing dinner of sausage casserole, chicken and bacon pasta or vegetarian lasagne and biscuits and hot chocolate for supper.
