Fairtrade Assembly – Fairly Traded Products

On Friday 21st February our Fairtrade Forum along with staff from Lush, led an assembly about Fairly Traded Products. They discussed Fairtrade products as well as Rainforest Alliance, Traidcraft and Flocert products. Lush also brought along products and children were able to buy some of them at the end of the assembly.

Fairtrade Fortnight has started this week and each class is having a competition to see who can collect stickers from Fairtrade,  Rainforest Alliance, Traidcraft and Flocert products.

The teachers and pupils of Carnwath Primary School and Nursery Class have been learning about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.  Each class chose one to focus on and created excellent displays to share their work at the recent parents evening.  Well done to everyone for all your hard work as these issues are important steps in how we can help to transform our world and make it a better place for all.

School Forums

Every child in our school is a member of a school forum. At the beginning of the year they choose which forum they would like to join. Each forum has children from P1-P7 represented and the senior pupils are elected by their forum group to become Chairperson and Secretary.  The Chairperson leads the meeting and the Secretary records the minutes. Everyone is encouraged to have their say and children listen well to the views of others. Congratulations to the pupils below who were elected as Chairperson and Secretary.
