P5/6 Forest Visit Term 2

P5/6 had a fun filled afternoon at the forest.

First of all the children made nature names. Next they made Christmas trees. To do this the children used bowls, clay, natural materials such as sticks and leaves and craft materials such as feathers and cotton pads. Here are the finished results.

Nursery walk

Today we went on a walk around the school grounds.  The children learned about the parts of a plant.  The learned to identify the stem, branches, leaves and we talked about the roots.  We learned what plants and trees need to grow big e.g. the sun and rain.

We visited the mud kitchen to find that there was no mud but lots of ice.  We discussed why everything was all icey and what melts the ice to water.

Dance Festival at the Memorial Hall P3,4,5 children

Some of our children have been coming every week for the last few months to our dance club.  Together, they choreographed a street dance.  Some of the children performed this dance in front of other schools and a large audience at the Memorial Hall last night.  We were so proud of all of our children for creating such a fabulous dance and also proud of the children who performed this in front of the large audience.  Well done to everyone in the dance club.
