P4/5 Internet Safety Week

The children in P4/5 started off this term reading plays.  We learned about the layout and structure of plays and performed a few in our group reading daily.

We then, in small groups, wrote our own plays about keeping safe on the internet.

We performed these plays to the rest of the class and then we were asked to perform these to a couple of the classes.  We have performed our plays to Primary 2/3 who were a fabulous audience and were able to identify the key messages about internet safety from each of the plays and there were some excellent discussions around looking after ourselves on the internet.  What a great way to learn – through our peers!

We then designed an Internet Safety poster and the winning poster will be displayed on the school’s Wonderful Work wall.  The children have been learning how to create eye-catching posters this year and they have designed super posters this week getting the key messages across.

P3 Science

This term in science primary 3 are investigating forces and magnetism. In the last few weeks we have been exploring different push and pull forces, gravity, up-thrust and friction. To explore friction further the children set up an investigation into which surfaces would cause the most and least friction to a toy car travelling down a ramp.
