This term we have been learning about ‘Our Woods’ and have been lucky enough to visit the woods 4 times throughout the term. We have learned about the trees, plants and flowers growing in the woods and learned about animals and their habitats. We all had great fun and learned lots about nature and looking after the environment. Please see our class page for more photographs!

P3/4’s interdisciplinary topic this term is ‘Learning about Learning’. The children of P1/2 and P2/3 enjoyed visiting our class and taking parts in lots of different activities during our recent learning workshop.
P3/4 held their assembly on ‘The Vikings’ on Thursday 2nd June. They explained what life was like in Viking times through music and drama and even included a Viking raid!
We had an excellent day at Bothwell Castle with Sir Hugo telling us all about Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. We also learned about sieging a castle and the different weaponry they used. Super archery skills were also on show. A great day was had by all.
This term we have been visiting local areas and exploring the bee populations. Last week we went to John Mann Park and carried out quadrant surveys to see the variety of flowers in the area. We also pretended we were busy bees and collected pollen using cotton buds.
