The Yellow Group have been very busy investigating measure this week. This interest was sparked when they were outside with Mrs Coubrough on Monday and the children noticed that their shadows were changing size when they were moving. They explored how they could make their shadows taller and smaller. The children then went on to find different sized worms in the Nursery Garden. They used the metre sticks to measure lots of different things in the playground and trundle wheels to measure the distance between two places. They even measured themselves and put themselves in order from tallest to smallest!

Yellow Group Nursery – Pirate Adventures and Water Play
This week we have been exploring all things ‘Pirate’ related! At the beginning of the week, with Mrs Coubrough, the Yellow Group made maps in bottles, went on treasure hunts and made ships using crates and some other loose parts outside. At the end of the week, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and had lots of fun with water play in the ‘Peace Garden’ where we investigated floating and sinking.
Nursery Yellow Group – Exploring Creativity
This week the Yellow Group have been very interested in using lots of different natural ‘loose parts’ to express their thoughts and ideas and create their own pictures. They were especially keen to make their own ‘Nature Pictures’ so we went on a ‘Nature Walk’ to collect lots of natural materials which they then enjoyed getting creative with.
Nursery Yellow Group – All About Bunnies!
This week, the Yellow Group have shown great interest in bunnies/rabbits and have enjoyed looking after our (pretend) Nursery Rabbit, Rosie! They have learned about how to care for a rabbit, read lots of bunny books and produced beautiful bunny pictures. The children want to extend their learning and play next week by setting up a little ‘Vet Practice’ for Rosie the Rabbit.
