School and Nursery Open – Monday 4th March

I think it’s safe to say that the last few days have been extremely challenging in terms of weather. I hope the children have been able to go out sledging, snowballing and making snowmen and generally having fun. Like the school staff I’m sure the parents have had enough and will be glad to return to normality in the coming week.
Tomorrow, Monday 4th March, the school will be open as normal. This is thanks to the fantastic support we have had from SLC workers, Mrs Bailie’s husband and son who came with their tractor, Mrs Alexander and Mrs Shearer, Mr Stewart and Harry, Mr and Mrs Ramsay and Eve, Mrs Waddell, Mrs Bell and Mr Easton. They have all worked tirelessly today to ensure that the playground and car park are clear in order that we can all come back in the morning.
Unfortunately the pavement up to the front of the school is not clear and is not able to be used due to the large amount of snow on it. I would therefore ask that your children come in down the lane if possible. If they are coming along White Craw Court they will have to walk on the opposite side from the school or on the road so may need an adult with them. I would also be grateful if they took a wee bit extra care in case there are icy patches, particularly if the temperature falls tonight.
Special thanks go to Mrs Clyde who has battled the weather all week to try and keep the playground clear of snow. She and her husband have also been up today clearing snow.
Once again my sincere thanks to all who helped with the snow clearing today.
