P7 French – ça flotte ou ça coule?

P7 have been looking at French fruits. They learned the names of fruits and played games testing their knowledge and memory. They then went into partners and made predictions in French based on whether they thought the fruit would float or sink when placed in water. They had to given reason for their prediction in French too (i.e. the fruit is heavy, light etc). We then went outside and tested our predictions. We took note of our observations.

Reminder – Ladies Night on Friday 9th March

We would love it if you could join us at our Ladies Night on Friday 9th March! Tickets still available! Please see the details below –

The Parent Council have organised a ‘Ladies Social Night’ which will be held in Carnwath Bowling Club on Friday 9th March 2018 at 7.30pm.

The main focus of the evening will be a presentation from a local Body Shop at Home representative followed by the chance to sample some of the products and place orders.

The more orders placed the more cash back we receive for the school.

Tickets for the evening are priced at £3.00pp which includes nibbles and the chance to win our fabulous Pamper Hamper! So why not come along with a few friends and have some fun! Tickets can be purchased by completing and returning the attached order form along with your payment in a sealed envelope to the school office.  Please mark your envelope LADIES SOCIAL NIGHT. Your tickets will then be sent home with your child in due course.

To help generate additional funds, we have attached a Lucky Squares Sheet (one per family).  Much like a football card, you ask friends and family to pay £1 per square, there are 12 squares in all and when complete you return it to the school along with the money raised in a sealed envelope marked LUCKY SQUARES. The winner from each sheet will be drawn on the evening and will receive a Body Shop gift valued at £6 (if sheet completed) with the remaining £6 going straight towards the fund raising total.

Finally for anyone unable to attend on the night, Body Shop brochures are available for collection from the school office.  Please ensure your order along with payment is returned to the school office on or before Friday 9th March.

Thank you in advance for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

Gail Ramsay
