We have been using our knowledge on Pirates and their jobs on board a ship to apply for a specific job on our very own ship. We had jobs such as Quarter Master, Captain, Gunner, Cabin Boy and Rigger. Everyone was excellent as they took to the ‘Hot Seat’ and very interviewed by the rest of the class. Now the decision has to made of which role each person will take.
Primary 3/4 were able to use the ‘glitter germ busting’ machine to help understand the importance of hand washing to prevent germs. The children all really enjoyed this and were amazed at how many germs could on our hands, pens and pencils at one time! We used a slap bracelet also to show how germs can be living on pieces of our clothing, the children couldn’t believe how many germs showed up under the light!!
