Blue Group.

The Blue group have been very busy over the last couple of weeks. One of the children had mentioned that they had a new puppy, this then sparked conversation on who had pets at home. Some of the children helped to set up a vet/ pet station. They have been looking after their little pups and taking care of their needs. Whilst outdoors they have been role playing further and pretending to be Paw Patrol Pups.

The children have been enjoying the Christmas festivities making Christmas decorations and a Christmas display for the Nursery window. We have also explored our senses using different scents in the play dough, we have had cinnamon, peppermint and orange.  We have used touch with some messy play using the sand, glitter and shaving foam which has encouraged a range of different vocabulary from the children.

The children have been using their problem solving skills whilst building with the bricks and stickle bricks both in and outdoors working out how to design the house with a doorway and a roof. Well done blue group we have had some wonderful designs.

Yellow Group

Well what a busy week we had last week.  A very special visit from Santa, cupcake decorating and a yummy Christmas lunch were just some of the things we were doing.  In the yellow group we have also been talking about the nativity story.  We have been using a story map to help us remember the story.  We have had lots of fun learning the actions.  If anyone would like to do this at home I have attached the story below called We’re Going on a Journey.

This week the children were absolutely delighted to see and speak to Santa when he came to visit the nursery children, socially distanced, outdoors.  A fantastic experience which everyone, including staff, thoroughly enjoyed!

Christmas In The Purple Group

The Purple group have been very busy preparing for Christmas with lots of exciting activities. We have been making Christmas cards, Christmas cupcakes and decorations for our Christmas trees at home. Whilst having lots of fun we have also been developing our skills, particularly our fine motor skills and mark making. We also had a very special visit on Wednesday  from Santa where the boys and girls told him we have been good and working hard. We are looking forward to lots more Christmas festivities next week including our party.
