The children in Primary4/5 have been learning about the importance of food hygiene and were then given the challenge of preparing food for The Evergreens. They made sandwiches, fruit kebabs and crispy cakes.

What another successful dance performance from our children at Carnwath Primary School. The children in the dance club worked so hard sometimes rehearsing twice a week leading up to the show at the Memorial Hall. The children choreographed the dance with just a little support offered to bring it all together. So a huge well done children!! I think everyone would agree the children had an excellent time.
Primary 4/5 had a ball performing in front of the school. They have been learning all about the Titanic and used lots of facts they learned in the script. Every child had a part to perform and what amazing actors we have. The children’s costumes were fantastic and a huge thanks to their families who helped out with these. Thank you to Primary 6 who watched their dress rehearsal and gave constructive feedback before their actual performance. A massive thanks from me to the children in Primary 4/5 for their commitment and positive behaviour throughout rehearsals and their performances.
P7 enjoyed a visit from Nil By Mouth today, an anti-sectarian Charity. The children looked at definitions of prejudice, discrimination, sectarianism and racism, had group discussions, and looked at famous celebrities and their religious backgrounds. They were then shown messages that had been posted on social media and had to rate these on a 1-10 scale, with 1 being “just banter” and 10 being “offensive”. There were lots of different opinions and children had to decide which they thought would be against the law to post. Children learned lots about social media such as “if you wouldn’t say it, don’t post it”.
Thank you so much to Nil By Mouth for doing this marvellous workshop with us.
P2/3 were making portraits of themselves using natural materials and looking at adding detail to our pictures. We got very creative! Can you guess who is who?
