Well done to P5/6/7 for their outstanding performance with Scottish Opera!
The children have been learning their songs for a number of weeks. After just 2 hours rehearsal today, they performed the whole story, and what a performance it was!

The children really felt the part when they got into their costumes and did a dress rehearsal to the rest of the school, before their final performance to their family members.
Primary 3/4 had a fantastic day out to Amazonia to add to our learning about Rainforests. The children were able to ask lots of questions and had the opportunity to look around the rainforest. Each child was also given the opportunity to have a handling session with some animals that would be found in the rainforest…they were very brave!!! We enjoyed some free time in the park after lunch.

On Monday 3rd June, two of our pupils went along to South Lanarkshire Council’s ‘Celebrating Success’ Awards Ceremony in the Town House in Hamilton. They were accepting awards on behalf of their classes for the following achievements –
Primary 3 – For outstanding achievements with their Hi 5 award.
Primary 4/5 – For outstanding work towards gaining their John Muir award.
Very well done to every pupil in P3 and P4/5 for their hard work throughout the term.
Citizens of the week for 3rd – 7th June are as follows –
Nursery – Skye Hamilton for having a positive attitude

Primary 3/4 – Grace Kane for a fantastic acrostic poem about rainforests
Primary 4/5 – Billie Thomson for super persuasive writing
Primary 5/6 – Eve Ramsay for being very kind and helpful
Primary 7 – Antony Murray for good singing during Scottish Opera practices
Everyone had a very fun (and dry!) evening at Wiston Lodge.
When we arrived, we put our bags in our rooms, had a fire drill, and a snack around the fire area. We then played some games such as capture the flag.
While we played, Mrs Alexander was busying building the fire and making the dinner. We were hungry and ready for a rest by the fire. We also got some extra tasty treats such as toasted teacakes which were delicious!
It was then time for an exciting scavenger hunt in teams. We had to be creative with the things we needed to find. Miss Reid’s team was the winning team! Well done!
Finally, we relaxed by the fire. Mrs Alexander made magic rainbow fire flames, and we toasted marshmallows and made smores. We ended our evening with a quiz by the fire.
Before bedtime, we had one last play about in the hope that it would help everyone sleep!
Despite some tiredness today, everyone had a fantastic time!
