Today P2/3 took drama outside. We were looking at freezeframing and using our body and facial expression to tell a story or show emotions.
Can you guess what stories / emotions we are showing?

The children in P4/5 had fun with our Story Cubes. In their groups they used the story cubes to create short stories. They were helping each other up-level their sentences using amazing adjectives, adverbs and verbs, connectives and similes and metaphors. The children will use these as challenging finishers.
P7 had a great time at Biggar High School STEM day. They were placed into groups with children from other schools in the learning community. Their first challenge was to build a tower, as tall as possible, using only spaghetti and sellotape. They then had an active game which involved lots of running and communication. They had to answer various questions – some they even had to give the answers to in French. Children then went to Science where they took part in 4 stations involving the senses. They even got to taste some sweets! After lunch, children ended their day with stations based on Science, Technologies, Engineering and Maths.
This week in science the children heard a story about Louis Braille and discussed how braille helps blind people to read. We then worked together to make our names in braille, first using coloured dots and then using lentils so that we could feel the letters.
This week our p7 netball team travelled to Biggar High School to play netball against the S1 and S2 team. The children played really well and managed to win the game 18-6! Well done to everyone who took part and thanks again to the high school for having us, we had a great time!
