Both the circles and the squares have been learning about money over the past couple of weeks in maths. Everyone has worked really hard learning to identify coins and notes, add and subtract money, give change and work within a budget. Last week a role play shop was set up our classroom to allow the children to practise what they’ve learned. The boys and girls have been having a great time playing in the shop and have enjoyed using their knowledge of number to add up totals and give out change. They even created a ‘Tips’ jar for the shop keepers! The circles have also been enjoying using the computer to support and enhance their learning on money. They have been working collaboratively to compare costs and shop using given a budget. The children have enjoyed using Argos, Amazon, Tesco and other online shops to plan out what they could buy.
